Making and Canning Homemade Barbecue Sauce

You won't find a barbecue sauce recipe that is easier to make and can at home. Try the dinner recipe portions just to test our recipe. YUM! You may adjust the salt, pepper and chili powder to suit your taste. We'll be adding some more homemade bbq sauce canning recipes this summer, so make sure to check back!

- Finely chop onions.
- Heat Sesame Seed Oil in sauce pan for small batch or Dutch oven for large batch.
- Add onions to heated oil.
- Sauté onions until translucent, stirring regularly for about 5 minutes.
- Add and stir in salt, pepper and chili power.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, beginning with the ketchup.
- Bring the barbecue sauce to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Peel, quarter and remove the seeds.Combine water, spices, sugar, lemon juice and cornstarch in a large, heavy pan and slowly bring to a boil, stirring continuously to avoid lumping of cornstarch.Add fruit and bring up to simmer, cooking for about five minutes, stirring continuously.
